LEAD ELECTRICIAN Operational Services Facilities/Grounds & Transportation

JOB QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma, or equivalent, preferred. Knowledge of the standard tools, materials, methods, and practices of the electrical trade. Knowledge of the principles and theory of electricity, of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the electrical trade, and of work with high voltages, and electrical codes. Ability to install, alter, repair, maintain and locate defects in a variety of electrical equipment and systems, and to interpret and work from technical sketches and blueprints. Skill in the care and use of standard tools, equipment, and testing devices of the electrical trade. Completion of an approved training course; considerable experience as a journeyman level electrician, or any equivalent combination of experience and training will be considered. Valid Georgia driver’s license and safe driving record. Physical demands - must be able to stand and walk the majority of the day, performing heavy manual labor; lift and carry thirty (30) pounds frequently, and up to one hundred (100) pounds infrequently; push or pull same amounts frequently. Job also requires frequent bending and stooping. The job requires some work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
JOB DUTIES: Is present at work every day and arrives at assigned time. 1 Demonstrates an attitude and demeanor that contributes to an atmosphere of harmony and goodwill in the workplace. Interacts in a professional manner with students, staff, and school/district leaders. Performs skilled work in accordance with standard practices of the electrical trade. Considerable latitude is allowed in determining methods of work procedures. This position is frequently assisted by, and required to supervise, sub-journeyman level helpers. Follows instructions relating to work assignments, presented either orally or written. Works utilizing sketches, blue prints, and/or electrical diagrams. Installs, maintains, and repairs heaters, fans, circulating pumps, electrical equipment and machinery, and other electrical equipment. Repairs flasher units, time clocks, relays, switches, control boxes, fuse boxes, and floor scrubbers. Installs and repairs electrical motors, controllers, switchbox panels, lights; locate and correct power failures and motor trouble on electrically operated machinery and apparatus. Complies with all requirements for mandatory reporting of child abuse, illegal harassment, or any criminal activity for which the employee becomes aware. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor, to include repairs to kitchen equipment and appliances.
Pay: $34,113.00 - $73,568.00 per year
