Job Description
Express Messenger Service is seeking a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Night Dispatcher to oversee overnight delivery operations. This position is responsible for coordinating drivers, monitoring deliveries, communicating with customers and drivers, and ensuring all deliveries are completed safely and on schedule during the night shift.
Responsibilities
- Dispatch drivers efficiently for scheduled and on-demand deliveries.
- Monitor driver locations and delivery progress using GPS and dispatch software.
- Communicate with drivers regarding route changes, delivery updates, and customer requests.
- Answer incoming phone calls and assist customers with delivery inquiries.
- Maintain accurate dispatch logs and delivery records.
- Coordinate with the day dispatch team to ensure smooth shift transitions.
- Respond quickly to delivery issues and provide effective solutions.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and safety procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous dispatching, logistics, transportation, or customer service experience preferred.
- Excellent communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with GPS tracking and routing software is a plus.
- Knowledge of South Florida roadways is preferred.
- Ability to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Reliable, dependable, and able to work independently.
