Duties
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including air conditioning units, refrigeration equipment, boilers, and mechanical systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and HVAC design plans to accurately diagnose issues and execute repairs.
- Perform electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters to identify faults within electrical systems and components.
- Conduct routine maintenance on HVAC equipment to ensure efficient operation and longevity.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical systems, refrigeration units (including ammonia refrigeration), and building automation systems to resolve malfunctions swiftly.
- Collaborate with clients to provide clear explanations of system issues and recommended solutions while delivering excellent customer service.
- Maintain detailed service records, inspection reports, and logs for all work performed to ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
Experience
- Proven construction experience combined with service technician expertise in HVAC or related mechanical fields.
- Hands-on experience with HVAC system repair, installation, and maintenance across commercial or industrial settings.
- Strong knowledge of schematics, HVAC design principles, plumbing systems, electrical diagnostics, and mechanical systems repair.
- Familiarity with refrigerants such as ammonia refrigeration and the use of hand tools for precise mechanical work.
- Knowledge of building automation systems (BAS), electrical systems within HVAC/R equipment, boiler operation, and property maintenance practices.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues efficiently using diagnostic tools like ohmmeters and multimeters.
- EPA certification (or equivalent) for handling refrigerants safely in compliance with environmental regulations.
- Excellent customer service skills paired with a proactive approach to property maintenance and appliance repair tasks.
