In this vital role, you will provide exceptional kennel and animal husbandry services, ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for our patients. Your energetic and proactive approach will support veterinary professionals in delivering top-tier medical care while fostering a compassionate atmosphere for every animal that walks through our doors.
Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kennels, cages, and treatment areas to promote optimal health and hygiene standards.
- Assist with animal restraint during examinations, treatments, and procedures to ensure safety for both animals and staff.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately following veterinary instructions, including oral medications, and topical applications.
- Handle a variety of animals including dogs and cats with gentle care, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times.
- Monitor animals’ behavior and vital signs to detect signs of distress or illness, communicating observations promptly to veterinary staff.
- Provide basic grooming services, such as brushing fur and trimming nails
- Engage in play activities and exercise with all pets
- Keep records of the pet's feedings, treatment and other updates
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in a veterinary hospital or animal shelter environment with kennel duties.
- Strong knowledge of animal husbandry practices, including feeding, cleaning, and basic health monitoring.
- Experience with veterinary terminology, medication administration, and aseptic techniques.
- Skilled in animal handling across different species with an emphasis on dog and cat handling and restraint techniques.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting effectively with team members and pet owners.

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
