Job Summary:
This role requires the ability to work independently and serve as a resource within the Livingston County community by recruiting participants for the Peer Training Academy, delivering a multi-week training curriculum on relevant topics, conducting outreach to potential employers, and providing individual support and follow-up to participants to help them secure employment.
Primary Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned)

Recruit participants for the Peer Training Academy through community outreach and engagement within Livingston County

Register new participants for the academy.

Deliver a multi-week training curriculum on relevant topics.

Assist participants with identifying and accessing educational resources.

Provide support and follow-up to academy participants throughout the training process and after completion.

Conduct outreach to potential employers to identify job opportunities

Maintain appropriate records and complete paperwork in a timely manner.

Comply with HIPPA regulations.
Requirements:
Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED required, Associate's degree preferred

Minimum two years’ experience providing education support preferably in a mental health setting.

Experience and knowledge of the public mental health system.

MUST have valid NYS Certified Peer Specialist (NYSPS) certification

Use one’s personal lived experience in role modeling recovery and providing hope for others.

Reliable transportation and valid NYS driver’s license required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of and connection with community resources.

Group facilitation

Ability to maintain organized electronic health records for program statistics.

Knowledge and understanding of virtual meeting software.

Able to work independently with minimum supervision.

Ability to prioritize and organize a variety of work assignments in a busy environment.

Demonstrated strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Must demonstrate sensitivity, respect, and competency with diverse backgrounds, social identities and practices of community members.
