Responsibilities
- Assist with planting, watering, fertilizing, pruning, and harvesting crops in greenhouse or outdoor settings
- Care for animals by feeding, watering, cleaning enclosures, and monitoring health conditions
- Operate farm machinery such as tractors, tillers, irrigation systems, forklifts, and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on tools, equipment, and machinery; including welding and basic mechanical troubleshooting
- Manage irrigation systems to ensure proper water distribution across fields and nursery areas
- Support greenhouse operations by transplanting seedlings, managing soil health, and maintaining environmental controls
- Handle heavy lifting tasks involving soil bags, plant containers, feed supplies, or animal materials using proper techniques and safety procedures
Requirements
- Prior experience in farming or horticulture is highly desirable; familiarity with growing techniques is a plus
- Mechanical knowledge including basic equipment repair and maintenance skills
- Hands-on experience with animal husbandry and animal handling practices
- Ability to operate power tools, hand tools, heavy machinery such as forklifts and other farm equipment safely
- Knowledge of irrigation systems, greenhouse management, and crop cultivation methods
- Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting and outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Basic math skills for measurements, inventory tracking or record keeping
- Supervising experience is beneficial for team coordination roles but not mandatory
- Valid certifications for forklift operation or farm machinery operation are advantageous
