Home-based across North America | 70–90% travel | Overtime eligible
Monday, you’re on the preheater tower in Alberta verifying instrumentation before first feed. By Wednesday, you’re tuning a multi-channel burner to stabilize NOx and fuel consumption. Friday wraps with customer training on a newly commissioned VRM and a concise report outlining next steps for throughput gains. The throughline: you’re the on-site expert who makes advanced cement technology perform at its best.
- Lead commissioning and start-up of cement process equipment, from raw mills and VRMs to rotary kilns, coolers, and roller presses.
- Conduct process audits across the plant (kiln, mill, cooler, burner, and material handling systems) and translate findings into actionable improvements.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, process, and controls issues to stabilize quality, raise production, improve fuel efficiency, and reduce emissions.
- Optimize pyroprocessing and grinding circuits to deliver sustained performance gains.
- Train operators and maintenance teams on safe, reliable operation and best practices.
- Partner with customers and internal sales teams in technical discussions to scope solutions and align on KPIs.
- Document results with clear technical reports, data-backed recommendations, and follow-up roadmaps.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or related Engineering.
- Hands-on background in cement manufacturing, process engineering, commissioning, production, or continuous improvement.
- Working knowledge of key equipment: kilns/rotary kilns, preheaters, burners, coolers, raw and finish mills, VRMs, roller presses, and associated material handling.
- Strength in troubleshooting, process optimization, and data-driven decision making.
- Excellent customer-facing communication skills and comfort leading on-site activities.
- Ability to travel extensively across North America (approximately 70–90%).
- SCADA/HMI familiarity and use of plant historian data for diagnostics.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and P&IDs.
- Experience with kiln operations, pyroprocessing, process control, and grinding optimization (ball mill, raw mill, finish mill, VRM).
- Home-based role with paid overtime for hours worked over 40 per week.
- Annual bonus opportunity.
- Competitive benefits and 401(k) match.
- Work directly with industry-leading cement technology at plants across North America.
- Be part of a collaborative global engineering team with real long-term career growth.
