This is a unique position for an experienced cook looking for a change of pace. This professional kitchen follows UT Knoxville’s academic schedule so when classes are out the kitchen is closed for service. We get most weekends/holidays off. This gives a fantastic chance to spend time with family, travel and pursue personal interests.
The kitchen is primarily a three-person operation with support from an hourly student staff. Daily work includes being able to assist with lunch, complete daily prep lists, wash dishes, execute dinner buffet service, clean/close kitchen and execute weekly changing lunch/dinner menus with verbal guidance from the chef. Experience supervising untrained staff is a plus.
Applicants must be neat in appearance and able to interact directly and appropriately with members while working in an open kitchen. Qualified experience includes: food service, restaurant, banquet, fast casual, private club or catering experience. You must be able to work cleanly, efficiently, follow health codes and be a "can-do" team player. The chef is willing to train individuals that have a great attitude, relevant experience, and stable work history.
