Bilingual Nursery Office & Sales Assistant
Full-Time | $18–$21+ per hour, depending on experience
Certified Plant Growers, a family-owned 20-acre nursery in Norwalk, CA, is seeking an experienced Bilingual Nursery Office & Sales Assistant to join our team.
This is a hands-on position combining but not limited to office administration, Accounts Receivable, cashier duties, customer service, and plant sales. This position includes responsibility for all assigned office and administrative duties, in addition to working with customers and assisting throughout the nursery.
Qualifications:
- Previous professional plant nursery experience REQUIRED
- Fluent English and Spanish REQUIRED
- Strong plant identification knowledge
- Customer service experience
- Office, Accounts Receivable, bookkeeping, or cashier experience preferred
- Reliable, organized, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors
- Able to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Responsibilities
- Handle Accounts Receivable, filing, data entry, paperwork, and general office/administrative duties
- Answer phones and assist customers
- Operate the cash register and process payments
- Help customers select plants and trees
- Identify plants and answer basic plant-care questions
- Recommend alternative plants when requested items are unavailable
- Provide excellent customer service throughout the nursery
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Physical Requirements & Safety
This is an active position requiring extended periods of standing and walking, as well as working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Job duties may require frequent lifting, carrying, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, kneeling, and working around nursery areas. Employees must be able to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and safely perform the physical requirements of the position.
Employees are expected to follow all company safety procedures and instructions, use appropriate care when handling plants and materials, and maintain a safe work environment.
Compensation
$18–$21+ per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
