Responsibilities
- Efficiently wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment using proper dishwashing techniques and sanitizing procedures
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, and organizing ingredients under supervision
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas by sweeping, mopping, wiping surfaces, and disposing of waste according to sanitation standards
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables, resetting dining areas, and ensuring a clean environment for guests
- Operate basic kitchen equipment safely and responsibly, including dishwashers, sinks, and food prep tools
- Follow food safety management protocols to ensure proper handling and storage of food items
- Adhere strictly to kitchen health and safety standards to prevent accidents and promote a safe working environment
Requirements
- Previous food service or restaurant experience is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm to learn is key!
- Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and sanitation practices in a commercial kitchen setting
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting (up to specified weights), bending, and standing for extended periods
- Basic knife skills and familiarity with food handling procedures are advantageous
- Strong understanding of kitchen health and safety standards along with commitment to maintaining a clean workspace
- Experience with catering or banquet service is a plus; hospitality background highly valued
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to follow instructions accurately in a fast-paced environment
