American Traveler is hiring a Rehab RN for an inpatient rehabilitation hospital, requiring 2+ years of experience and travel nursing experience with a TX or compact RN license.

Inpatient rehabilitation hospital caring for patients recovering from stroke, orthopedic surgeries, debilitating conditions, and brain injuries
-
Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

Patient ratio of 1:7
-
May float to LTAC or other hospital units to manage med-surg patients

Epic charting system used
-
Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration

BLS and ACLS certifications required; CPI and NIHSS certifications preferred
-
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Travel nursing experience required
-
Epic charting experience preferred
-
Previous charge nurse experience preferred

LTAC experience preferred
-
Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central/peripheral line management
-
Experience with neurological conditions including CVA, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury

Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE preferred
-
Experience with tracheostomy care and nasal cannula management preferred
-
Experience with ortho trauma and total joint replacement preferred
-
Experience with post cardiac surgery care preferred
-
Experience with renal failure and pre/post hemodialysis management preferred
-
Experience with rapid response/code team protocols preferred
-
Provide multidisciplinary rehabilitative care within an interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, therapists, and support staff

Support development and execution of individualized patient care plans
-
Emphasize family involvement and patient education throughout the recovery process
-
Utilize advanced rehabilitation technologies and evidence-based practices
-
Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties will not be considered

Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will not be considered

Former staff members must wait one year before returning as a traveler
-
No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation

Travel pairs or groups will not be considered
