Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs, ensuring a positive experience from start to finish
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process retail sales transactions, handle cash and card payments, and give correct change
- Conduct product demos to showcase features and benefits, encouraging upselling opportunities to maximize sales
- Maintain organized merchandising displays and stock shelves to enhance store presentation and product accessibility
- Manage inventory by stocking shelves, conducting stock counts, and alerting management of low inventory levels
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries via phone etiquette or in person with clear communication skills
- Support team members with supervising responsibilities when needed, including training new staff or assisting with daily store operations
Requirements
- Prior experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are essential
- Strong proficiency with POS systems, cash handling, and basic math skills for accurate transactions
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve a diverse customer base effectively
- Demonstrated customer service skills with an emphasis on positive communication and problem-solving
- Experience in merchandising, stocking, or product demos is beneficial for success in this role
- Knowledge of retail math principles for balancing registers and managing sales data accurately
- Previous supervising experience is advantageous for supporting team leadership tasks
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
