Manufacturing Engineer Summary:
Support various manufacturing operations through implementation of equipment, tooling and processes. Focus on improvements to processes, reduction of scrap, improvements to throughput and efficiencies and other efforts for improvement. Implementation of Lean Methodologies in a job shop environment. Responsibilities:
- Support various manufacturing operations through implementation of tooling equipment, and processes
- Assist design engineers, coaches, and technical staff in establishing equipment or tooling needs for new products, cost justification and implementation
- Train all level of employees as needed on new equipment, tools and techniques
- Participate in technical meetings
- Must be able to develop safe applications and use of industrial chemicals, including appropriate documentation
Qualifications and Skills needed:
- This position is subject to the ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and/or the EAR (Export Administration Regulations). Candidates must qualify as a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent residents (green card holder) according to U.S. Federal law.
- A four year degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent
- Three years experience in a manufacturing engineering capacity strongly preferred
- Education and/or experience in CAD and 3 D printing
- Excellent communication skills to work with management, vendors, customers and production
- Advanced math for accurate calculations
- Using ergonomic, Lean and Continuous Improvement tools including Kaizen, Taguchi, Theory of Constraints, 5S to make production process and quality improvements, reduce scrap and improve production efficiencies
- Must be a self starter able to work with minimal supervision, supervisory and training skills are preferred
