The Smoking Aide is responsible for supervising residents during designated smoking times to ensure compliance with facility policies, safety regulations, and individual care plans. This position helps maintain a safe environment by monitoring smoking activities, providing assistance as needed, and documenting resident participation.
Supervise residents during scheduled smoking periods.
Ensure residents follow facility smoking policies and safety procedures.
Assist residents to and from designated smoking areas when required.
Monitor residents for signs of distress, injury, or changes in condition and report concerns to nursing staff.
Distribute and secure smoking materials according to facility policy.
Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly smoking area.
Ensure proper disposal of cigarettes, cigars, matches, and other smoking materials.
Document resident attendance and incidents as required.
Respond appropriately to emergencies and safety hazards.
Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff.
Follow all facility policies, infection-control standards, and regulatory requirements.
