NFI North Intermission Program is seeking a Shift Supervisor for our program in Lewiston, Maine. This program is a residential treatment program providing transitional services to seven homeless young adults within the Lewiston Area. This program has been developed to increase our ability to provide transitional housing as well as other essential services necessary for young adults who are participants of mental health services. This transitional housing option is designed to provide residential housing as well as the support necessary to insure successful independent living for these young adults. The supportive services found within the program will include Daily Living Support Services, Skills Development Services and Community Integration Services.
As an essential member of the management team the Shift Supervisor’s responsibilities include but are not limited to: employee scheduling, supervising the counseling staff, ensuring the coordination of participant’s appointments, on-call responsibilities, oversight of food preparation and overall coordination of daily programming.
Bachelor’s or Associates degree in human services, psychology, and related field experience working with adults living with mental health challenges. Flexibility, high energy, creativity, computer proficiency and good communication skills are required. Ability to facilitate a positive working and living atmosphere is essential.
The ideal candidate is not only able to create and build a positive, healthy relationship with our clients but one who can motivate our youth by helping them recognize their true potential and strive for it. You must have good professional boundaries and have an active personality to engage in various sports, activities and life skills as a role model, mentor and coach. Our Shift Supervisor not only leads our shifts but they offer support, guidance and leadership to our direct care counselors. If you have good organization and communication skills, an ability to assume and delegate responsibilities and exercise decision making you may be a good fit.
