Process Engineer (Aerospace Manufacturing)
Job Overview
We are seeking a high-energy, detail-oriented Process Engineer to join our fast-paced aluminum open-die hand forging facility. You will be responsible for planning, tracking, and coordinating all outside processing requirements. This role demands a sense of urgency, high accuracy, and strict adherence to strict aerospace quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Outside Processing Coordination: Plan, track, and manage all outside vendor processes. Coordinate with external providers to ensure tight production schedules and delivery targets are met.
- Specification & Contract Review: Provide planning support by reviewing customer contracts and technical specifications, specifically for heat treatment and destructive/non-destructive test labs.
- Daily Production Reporting: Attend daily production meetings. Provide clear, real-time status updates on all active jobs.
- Quality & Compliance: Ensure all department production methods and practices align with internal standards, customer requirements, AS9100, and Nadcap specifications.
- Data Management: Utilize advanced excel metrics and ERP systems to manage job tracking data accurately under tight daily time limits.
- Operational Adherence: Comply with all company policies, safety procedures, and perform any other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Skills
Required Education & Experience
- Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Industry Experience: Proven experience working within the aerospace manufacturing industry.
- Data Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, specifically creating and managing pivot tables for data analysis.
Preferred Experience
- Software: Direct hands-on experience using Sage ERP software is a major plus.
- Metallurgical Knowledge: Familiarity with aluminum open-die forging, heat treating, and materials testing.
- Previous: Relevant work experience in Open Die Aluminum Handforging environment is highly preferred.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and extreme heat. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions and vibration. The noise level in this work environment requires hearing protection.
