Duties
- Act as the primary point of contact for patients, guiding them through treatment options and scheduling appointments with enthusiasm and professionalism
- Manage patient records using Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Patient Management Software, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality at all times
- Verify insurance coverage, explain benefits, and assist patients with health insurance questions to facilitate seamless financial arrangements
- Coordinate treatment plans with dentists and hygienists, ensuring clarity and patient understanding of procedures and costs
- Communicate effectively via phone and client communication channels to confirm appointments, follow up on treatment plans, and address patient inquiries promptly
- Maintain thorough documentation of patient interactions, treatment plans, and billing information in compliance with health regulation policies
- Support medical administrative tasks such as typing reports, updating records, and managing office correspondence to keep operations running smoothly
Experience
- Prior experience in a medical or dental office setting is highly preferred; familiarity with dental office workflows is a strong advantage
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for documentation and communication tasks
- Knowledge of health regulation policies related to patient privacy (such as HIPAA compliance) and insurance procedures
- Experience supporting medical administrative functions including patient management software (EMR/EHR), billing, and insurance claims processing
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with diverse patients
- Understanding of medical terminology relevant to dental care enhances effective communication within the team
- Demonstrated ability to maintain patient confidentiality while managing sensitive information efficiently
