Job Overview:
We are seeking a Millwright , Rigger, Assistant Heavy Forklift Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be skilled or interested in learning to operating a forklift to rig heavy manufacturing equipment up to 20K lbs within our warehouse. This role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and a commitment to safety. This candidate will work closely with a senior warehouseman/mechanic.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, throughout the warehouse and onto and off of delivery trucks.
- Load and unload pallets of heavy equipment and full sea containers using pallet jacks and forklifts.
-Assist the Millwright by helping with local deliveries and pick up parts.
- Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and repaired as needed.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to prevent accidents and maintain compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory and location of storage.
- Collaborate with other warehouse staff to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Load and unload trucks and trailers, ensuring all products are properly secured and protected during transportation.
- Perform tasks in accordance with company policies, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
Spanish speaking is helpful but not mandatory.
Requirements:
- At least 2 years experience operating heavy forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and guidelines for warehouse operations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet productivity and efficiency targets.
- Physical stamina to perform tasks that require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Commitment to safety and a willingness to report any safety concerns or incidents.
- Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with other warehouse staff.
- Experience with equipment repair and maintenance is an asset.
-valid driver’s license with a clean record.
Compensation comiserate with experience.
