Position: Front Desk Receptionist
Location: Jersey City, New Jersey
Shift: PRN | 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM and 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM
Salary: $16/hour
Acclaim Rehab and Nursing Center is seeking a friendly, reliable, and professional Front Desk Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for our residents, families, visitors, and staff. In this PRN role, you will play a vital role in maintaining a welcoming and organized front desk environment while ensuring smooth communication throughout the facility.
Greet all visitors and direct them to the appropriate departments or resident rooms.
Answer incoming calls, transfer to appropriate personnel, or take detailed messages.
Provide information regarding the facility’s location, services, and general inquiries.
Monitor the front entrance and visitor sign-in process, ensuring compliance with safety procedures.
Monitor and report any elopement risks as directed.
Assist with paging staff and facilitating internal communication.
Forward calls for residents without phones to the appropriate nursing units.
Maintain updated directories of residents, staff contacts, emergency personnel, and critical care residents.
Ensure visitors and vendors comply with facility rules and HIPAA regulations.
Offer hospitality (e.g., beverages) to guests when appropriate.
Track the presence of sales representatives within the facility.
Preferred: Prior experience in a nursing home or healthcare facility
Ability to operate a multi-line phone system with proper telephone etiquette
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English clearly
Strong interpersonal skills with a professional and courteous demeanor
Ability to work independently and handle multiple responsibilities
Must uphold confidentiality standards and comply with HIPAA regulations
