Job Summary
We are an independent Veterinary practice seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinarian to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of animal anatomy and veterinary practices, with the ability to provide high-quality care to a variety of animals. This role involves diagnosing and treating illnesses, performing surgeries, and educating pet owners on proper animal care. The Veterinarian will work closely with our support staff to ensure the well-being of all patients.
Duties
- Conduct thorough examinations of animals to assess their health and diagnose medical conditions.
- Develop treatment plans for various ailments and injuries, including administering medications and performing surgeries as needed.
- Provide emergency care and critical care for animals in distress.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their animal’s health, treatment options, and preventive care.
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure efficient clinic operations.
- Stay updated on advancements in veterinary medicine and participate in continuing education opportunities.
- Educate clients on proper pet care, nutrition, and husbandry practices.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school.
- Valid veterinary license to practice in the state of employment.
- Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, veterinary terminology, and laboratory procedures.
- Experience in veterinary critical care is preferred but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in animal handling, restraint techniques, and dog handling skills.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
- A commitment to providing compassionate care for all animals.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
