This is a strategic hire. We are looking for an attorney who is not only passionate about defending individuals in criminal matters, but who also has a secondary interest or background in labor law, particularly representing union members in disciplinary matters, grievances, and quasi-criminal or administrative investigations.

What You’ll Do Criminal Defense
- Handle a full range of criminal matters from disorderly persons to indictable offenses
- Appear regularly in municipal and Superior Courts throughout New Jersey
- Conduct legal research, draft motions, negotiate resolutions, and take matters to hearing or trial
- Provide steady communication, clear strategy, and confident advocacy to clients facing difficult circumstances
- Build and manage a caseload with support from experienced paralegals and intake systems
Labor / Union Member Representation (Preferred but Not Required)
- Represent individual union members (primarily public-sector employees) in:
- Disciplinary hearings
- Investigatory interviews
- PERC-related matters
- Internal investigations and quasi-criminal administrative proceedings
- Work closely with our labor law and litigation teams to advise on strategy, rights, and procedural protections
Who You Are
You are the right fit if you:
- Are admitted to practice in New Jersey
- Have 1–7 years of experience in criminal defense, government, prosecution, or judicial clerkship
- Are comfortable in the courtroom — or eager to get comfortable fast
- Communicate well with clients and treat them with respect and professionalism
- Can manage deadlines, court dates, and fast-moving files
- Work well within a system and appreciate structure, process, and accountability
- Want to learn, grow, and develop within a team that values high-quality advocacy
- Bonus: Experience with union work, education law, administrative investigations, or labor representation
Compensation: The position offers the opportunity to earn excellent compensation based on experience as it pays a base and bonuses. Salary is commensurate with experience and includes bonus opportunities, benefits and fee sharing on referrals.
