Heritage Candy is a B2B candy distributor/wholesaler to grocery store chains, and we are looking for someone with grocery or distributor buying experience to join our team! This is a full time in-person position, and you'd be working out of our Van Nuys, CA office (located near Woodley Park / Lake Balboa Golf Course). We are a family-run business that really enjoys the opportunity to get all our candy items out to the retail market! More details about the Buyer role are below:
Responsibilities Include:
- Processing new Purchase Orders from start to finish
- Helping with production planning / maintaining the production schedule
- Maintaining relationships with our vendors and retailers
- Checking inventory levels and updating our spreadsheets
- Placing new orders for product
- Managing various product samples for accounts
- Arranging freight for candy pick ups
Qualifications Include:
- Retail buying or wholesale experience
- Computer skills - proficiency with software programs (including Excel, which we use often)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Positive "can-do" attitude
- Familiarity with accounting software is a plus!
