We here at Champagne Grinding & Manufacturing in Canton are looking for an experienced Swiss Lathe Machinist on Days (7a-4:30p)
Our ideal candidate has t least 3 to 4 years experience Operating a Swiss Lathe and will look at candidates with longer experience in the industry. One that can Operate Swiss Machines and do some set-up & repair would be ideal. Programming experience not a must be we will certainly look at and consider. They would need to bring a knowledge of hand tools such as mics, gages and calipers. Can keep a clean workstation and stay on-task.

Responsibilities
- Operate and set up Swiss CNC lathes, ensuring precise machining of metal components according to detailed blueprints and technical specifications
- Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical drawings for accurate manufacturing processes
- Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement tools for quality control
- Perform machine maintenance, tooling changes, and adjustments to optimize machining performance and efficiency
- Conduct quality inspections on finished parts, ensuring adherence to specifications through CNC quality inspection techniques
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives by maintaining organized workstations, reducing waste, and improving workflow processes
- Assist in manual machining tasks using hand tools, grinders, power tools, and other manual equipment when necessary
Experience
- Proven experience operating Swiss-style CNC lathes or similar CNC machining centers in a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of CNC programming languages including G-code and M-code; experience with Fanuc controls is preferred
- Skilled in reading mechanical blueprints, GD&T symbols, and interpreting technical drawings for precise manufacturing
- Knowledge of measurement instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) for quality assurance
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints and perform basic math calculations related to machining tolerances
- Experience working with machining tools such as grinders, mills (CNC milling machines), hand tools, power tools, and tooling setup equipment
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles to promote continuous improvement in production processes
Pay: $27.79 - $33.46 per hour
