Overview
We are looking for a hardworking, reliable Independent Handyman & Remodel Technician to join the team at Justin's Remodel and Handyman Services. We proudly service all of Denton County, providing top-tier residential and commercial remodeling and repair work. This role is perfect for a highly capable craftsman who enjoys the autonomy of running their own small-to-medium handyman projects independently, but also thrives when teaming up with our crew to execute larger remodeling jobs. You will have the freedom to tackle hands-on work without the added stress of managing a crew or running the business side of things. We strongly believe in a flexible work-life balance to keep our team healthy, focused, and motivated.
Key Responsibilities
- Independent Execution: Autonomously complete a wide variety of independent handyman tasks and residential repairs, including carpentry, drywall, painting, flooring, and light plumbing or electrical work.
- Team Remodeling:
- Collaborate alongside the Lead Remodeler and crew on larger-scale projects (like kitchens and bathrooms) to follow project plans and meet deadlines.
- Site Management: Keep job sites clean, safe, and organized during and after each workday, whether working solo or with the team.
- Quality Craftsmanship: Complete all assigned tasks with a strong attention to detail, ensuring the final product reflects our company's high standards.
- Basic Administration: Use your phone to track personal hours, log daily progress, and submit material receipts as required.
Requirements
- Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in construction, remodeling, or professional handyman work.
- Technical Skills: A solid understanding of multiple construction trades and the ability to confidently execute tasks from demo to finish.
- Tools & Logistics: Must own a reliable set of standard hand and power tools and have reliable transportation (truck or van preferred). Valid driver's license required.
- Communication: A reliable phone is required for daily operational communication and time tracking.
- Adaptability: Ability to confidently work completely independently on solo tickets, while seamlessly shifting to become a collaborative team player on larger job sites.
- Physicality: Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks and lift heavy materials safely.
What We Offer
- Flexible Work-Life Balance: 40-hour work week with the option to work either four 10-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts.
- Competitive Pay & Future Bonuses: $18.00 – $25.00 per hour, based on your experience and the quality of your work. As the company continues to grow, we are actively working towards creating more opportunities for performance-based bonuses.
- Focus on the Craft: A role where you can focus on what you do best—the hands-on work—whether you are knocking out a solo project or building something great with the crew.
- Steady Work: A continuous pipeline of varied, high-quality projects throughout Denton County.
- Supportive Culture: A positive work environment that values your hard work, respects your time, and treats you like a core part of the team.
