About the Role
Next Round, a leading used golf equipment retailer, is seeking an experienced Senior Operations Manager to lead our warehouse and listing teams. This role owns day-to-day operations end-to-end — from the moment inventory arrives to the moment it ships — with a sharp focus on labor productivity, listing throughput, shipping accuracy, inventory accuracy, and steady improvement of the systems that support the operation.
This is a hands-on leadership role for an operator who knows how to keep a team productive, organized, and accountable throughout the full workday, enforce standards, and make consistent incremental gains rather than waiting for big-bang overhauls. Success here looks like a floor that runs tighter and a process that works a little better every week.
Key Responsibilities
Labor Management & Daily Execution
- Lead and manage the warehouse and listing workforce, including full-time and seasonal/temporary labor
- Prepare and execute a daily operating plan that keeps the team productive from open to close, with clear expectations for output across repairs, listing, pick, pack, and ship
- Staff and schedule labor to match variable order and intake volume
- Maintain consistent productivity and clear accountability throughout the workday
- Address performance gaps, workflow issues, and inefficiencies promptly and professionally
- Provide hands-on supervision, coaching, and leadership on the floor
Listing & Merchandising Operations
- Ensure incoming inventory moves through grading, photography, condition-noting, and listing without backlog
- Keep listing throughput matched to intake volume so inventory converts to sellable stock quickly
- Partner with merchandising and e-commerce teams to ensure listings are accurate, complete, and live on time
- Partner with merchandising and e-commerce teams to monitor and resolve returns root causes
Shipping & Fulfillment Operations
- Own shipping and fulfillment processes end-to-end
- Be accountable for consistently meeting or exceeding shipping KPIs (speed, accuracy, and cost per unit)
- Ensure inventory is shelved, labeled, and organized to support accurate, efficient fulfillment
- Maintain strong inventory accuracy through disciplined shelving, labeling, location management, cycle counting and process adherence
- Ensure pick/pack/ship workflows are efficient, consistent, and scalable
- Collaborate with internal teams to keep physical inventory handling and reporting systems in sync
Process & Continuous Improvement
- Treat the operation as a system to be steadily improved — identify friction, test changes, and lock in gains week over week
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks during daily operations and peak volume periods
- Document and standardize workflows so quality holds as volume grows
- Manage carrier and supply vendor relationships to keep costs and service levels competitive (negotiation as needed, not the core of the job)
Required Experience & Qualifications
- 5+ years of warehouse, fulfillment, or e-commerce operations management experience
- Proven experience managing labor in variable-volume operations and keeping teams productive through the full workday
- Experience managing listing, cataloging, photography, or product data workflows is a strong plus
- Track record of driving incremental operational improvement, not just holding the line
- Experience managing teams and enforcing performance standards
- Comfortable working in a hands-on warehouse environment
What Success Looks Like
- Labor is staffed efficiently and stays productive throughout the day
- Incoming inventory moves quickly from intake to live, accurate listings with no persistent backlog
- Shipping and fulfillment KPIs are consistently met or exceeded
- The operation runs with clear structure, discipline, and accountability
- Processes measurably improve over time through steady, incremental change
- Operations support seamless execution across current and growing sales channels, including Shopify, eBay, and emerging marketplaces
