Essential Duties:
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
· General labor involved in sheet metal forming, including layout, and marking of material, shearing, bulge form, hand form, trimming parts, using hand machine tools or fixtures to remove excess materials from parts in order to achieve a finished trim condition, grinding and jitterbug
· Perform routine and repetitive activities on equipment and machinery
· Perform minor maintenance on equipment and machines such as cleaning, adjusting, and lubricating,
· Work in one or more areas as deemed necessary by your manager
· Ensure that only high-quality products are processed through the department(s) you work in
· Ensure proper paperwork accompanies all parts you work on
· Identify and separate non-conforming parts, scrap parts, and acceptable parts, and note such on related paperwork
· Follow production schedule and work in a timely and efficient manner
· Follow all work and safety policies
· Cooperate with management and co-workers
· Should expect cross-training in more than one department
· Assure conformance with 5S program
· Maintain good attendance and punctuality
· Support and participate in Lean initiatives

Grinder
Qualified person who can use various hand and mechanical grinders and sanders to remove specific amounts material to prescribed guidelines for a desired finish or thickness of a part or tool.
- Set up parts on pedestals, clean parts using prescribed cleaning agents
- Operate, or tend grinding and related tools that remove excess material, burrs from surfaces,
- Deburr edges, buff, hone, or polish metal
- Performs typical grind / jitterbug / deburr operations to support the production schedule
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
- Follows prescribed safety regulations and guidelines
- Must participate in O.J.T (on the job training) as directed from time to time
Check & Straighten
A Check & Straighten operator corrects and verifies parts to comply to prescribed requirements of contour, flatness, waviness, angularity, etc., as applicable.
The process of using a tool such as a punch or check fixture and mechanically manipulating the profile of a part to closely match that of the tool. This operation is performed by a skilled operator using hand tools and measuring implements such as feeler gauges or go-no go gauges.
- Set up parts on pedestals, punch and or check fixtures
- Use prescribed solvents, cleaning agents to remove dirt, grit and foreign objects
- Use hammers, tools-pneumatic and/or hydraulic, gauges, fixtures as required
- Scribe part, cut and or shear, grind and deburr as per associated instructions
- Performs typical check & straight operations to support the production schedule
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
- Follows prescribed safety regulations and guidelines
- Makes use of pallets, hand carts and manually lifts, carries parts as needed
Requirements:
· US work authorization
· High school or equivalent (Preferred)
· Manufacturing: 1+ years (Preferred)
· Must be able to satisfactorily complete the McStarlite Company hiring process requirements which include drug testing and a background check
· Candidate must have a great attitude and willingness to learn
· Physical ability to perform job duties
· Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction
· Must be available to work overtime (before or after shift) as needed
· Must be available to work Saturdays
