Duties
- Prepare a variety of sushi dishes including nigiri, sashimi, maki rolls, and specialty items with precision and artistry
- Select fresh ingredients and ensure proper storage and handling to maintain quality standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate service times and ensure timely delivery of orders
- Develop new sushi recipes and presentation techniques to keep menus innovative and exciting
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and communicate supply needs proactively
- Uphold high standards of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar culinary role specializing in Japanese cuisine
- Strong knife skills with the ability to prepare fish, vegetables, and other ingredients efficiently
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper handling of raw seafood
- Ability to work quickly under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork skills and positive attitude in a dynamic environment
- Culinary training or certification related to Japanese cuisine or sushi preparation preferred
- Passion for culinary arts, creativity, and continuous learning in the field of sushi making
