General Summary
Plan, Direct, and Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the warehouse at the Preferred Supply - Low Country Operations Center. Supervise warehouse staff and ensure team members are on task and being productive. Ensure that staff members are working in a safe manner while performing their duties. Oversee that all orders are being pulled timely and accurately in accordance with client needs. Ensure that all products received (UPS, Fed-Ex, third party shipper, logistics) are being checked in accurately and received / billed in a timely manner. Communicate with Operations Manager & Stock Procurement Specialist concerning any discrepancies in inventory. Develop and nurture relationships with staff and other key support team members while continuously improving our level of support & knowledge. Monitor and improve the performance, productivity and efficiency of the Low Country Operation Center warehouse.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work and ensure staff are working in a safe manner according to company policies.
- Maintain strong staff and support staff relations.
- Ensure that customer orders are pulled in a timely manner
- Ensure that products and materials are received and processed in a timely manner.
- Ensure that all shipments are packaged / palletized in transport ready condition.
- Manage the outsourced repair of all safety and survey equipment.
- Keep the warehouse and yard in an organized and clean condition at all times. Floors are swept and clean. All tools in their assigned places when not in use.
- Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs.
- Ensure that all operations are accomplished in a correct, cost effective, and timely manner in alignment with company objectives and organizational well-being.
- Delegate tasks and accountabilities. Establish work schedules. Supervise staff. Monitor/ evaluate performance, along with staffing requirements and assist with the hiring of staff as needed.
- Coordinate with upper management in development of strategic plans for operational activity. Implement and supervise plans.
- Work in a safe manner, recognize and correct hazards within the warehouse/yard, and comply with all safety requirements.
Marginal Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain and Improve the existing procedures of all outgoing and incoming product/materials.
- Research new technologies and alternative methods to increase efficiencies.

- Knowledge of the legal requirements of operating a warehouse

- Strong technical skills, particularly database management and spreadsheets
- Industry relevant experience
- Knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness and operations supervision
- Ability to work under and meet deadlines

Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma / GED - Required
- Associates in business/business management or 5-10 years of relevant industry experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Light equipment training / experience – Required
- Computer Skills (typing, email, internet, MS Office / Excel) – Required
- Valid driver’s license
