Job Title: Licensed Clinician (LMHC/ LICSW)
Location: Providence, Rhode Island and Somerset, Massachusetts
Schedule: Four-day workweek, 32 hours per week, Monday- Thursday (with occasional Tuesday-Friday)
About Us
At Nettle & Ash, we are reimagining behavioral health as a space of healing, empowerment, and collective liberation.
Our work blends the science of behavior with soul—integrating Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), compassion-led ABA, art therapy, and neurodiversity-affirming principles to create care that honors each person’s humanity.
We reject cookie-cutter approaches.
We question the systems we’ve inherited.
And we make space for creativity, intuition, and autonomy in everything we do.
We are here for the outsiders, the misfits, the ones who color outside the lines—and we’re looking for a clinician who gets it.
What We Do
We support the neurodivergent, queer, and trans community through affirming, flexible, and relational care, including:
-
1:1 therapy and support for teens and adults
-
ACT-informed and compassion-led services
-
Neurodivergent-affirming and queer-centered care
-
Tween & teen groups focused on identity, agency, and connection
-
After-school and community-based programming
-
Workshops and events centered on self-expression, healing, and belonging
The Role
We’re seeking a licensed clinician who is grounded, flexible, and deeply relational. Someone who can hold complexity, support growth, and show up as a real human in the work.
This role is a mix of:
-
Direct clinical support (primarily teens and young adults)
-
Supervision (for those qualified)
-
Collaboration within a creative, evolving clinical environment
This is not a rigid, checkbox-driven role.
This is for someone who can think, adapt, connect, and co-create.
Key Responsibilities
Provide Direct Clinical Support
-
Deliver affirming, individualized care to teens and young adults
-
Work with neurodivergent, queer, and trans clients using flexible, relational approaches
-
Integrate ACT, compassion-led, and/or trauma-informed frameworks
Supervision & Mentorship (if applicable)
-
Provide supervision to provisional therapists in Rhode Island
-
Support growth through collaboration, not hierarchy
-
Help others build clinical confidence and autonomy
Collaborate on Care & Programming
-
Participate in team consultation and shared problem-solving
-
Contribute to group ideas, programming, and evolving services
-
Support after-school or group-based offerings when relevant
Documentation & Clinical Integrity
-
Complete documentation in a timely, thoughtful, and individualized way
-
Maintain high standards of care without rigid or compliance-driven thinking
Show Up as a Human
-
Build real relationships with clients and team
-
Engage in feedback, reflection, and repair when needed
-
Bring your voice, your ideas, and your perspective
You Might Be a Great Fit If You:
-
Are licensed in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts (LMHC or LICSW)
-
Have experience working with teens and/or young adults
-
Have experience supporting neurodivergent and queer/trans clients
-
Are flexible, relational, and able to adapt in the moment
-
Value collaboration over control, and connection over compliance
-
Are open to questioning traditional models of therapy or ABA
-
Can hold emotional complexity without rushing to “fix”
-
Want to be part of something evolving—not static
Work Structure
-
32-hour workweek (4 days)
-
1-2 days remote / 2-3 days in-person (4 days total)
-
In-person work based in Providence, with occasional time in Somerset, MA
-
Mix of 1:1 sessions, possible group involvement, and supervision (if applicable)
What We Offer
-
4-day workweek (because burnout is not a badge of honor)
-
Generous PTO, including a full month off in the summer
-
Fully covered healthcare for you (Blue Cross Blue Shield)
-
401k with up to 5% match
-
Paid training and continuing education
-
A team culture rooted in trust, humor, and actual humanity
-
Space to grow, create, and shape your role
Our Values
-
Compassion: We lead with care, curiosity, and courage
-
Equity: We center marginalized voices and redistribute power
-
Authenticity: We show up whole, even when it’s messy
-
Growth: We see mistakes as part of learning
-
Balance: We protect rest, joy, and space to breathe
Come As You Are
We strongly encourage applications from those who are queer, trans, non-binary, BIPOC, disabled, neurodivergent, parents, immigrants, system-impacted, survivors, and anyone who knows what it means to move through the world with layers.
You don’t have to fit a mold.
