Summary of Responsibilities
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing general maintenance functions, fulfilling work orders in a timely and efficient manner and identifying maintenance needs.
Essential Job Functions
- Troubleshoot and solve plumbing issues
- Replace electrical outlets, switches and light fixtures
- Repair cabinets, countertops and vanities
- Troubleshoot issues with appliances, including refrigerators, stoves, washers and dryers
- Repair tile, hardwood flooring and drywall
- Window repair including measuring for screens and blinds
- Ensure that all work has been completed in a safe, prompt and professional manner
- Perform special projects as assigned
Position Requirements
- Ability to demonstrate an understanding of general maintenance, carpentry, painting, plumbing, electricity, refurbishing and HVAC in both theory and practical applications
- Proficient in identifying issues , solving problems and dealing with them directly
- Consistently exhibits a sharp eye for detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills and a neat + organized work space
- Must be personable, have a positive and enthusiastic attitude, with the capability to deal effectively with people (both internal and external)
- Must be flexible with the ability to work in a team setting
- Solid time management skills; ability to handle multiple projects, meet deadlines and function independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to work an on-call rotation
Qualifications and Experience
High School diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of two years maintenance or construction experience.
Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
Physical Demands
Moderate physical effort required to sit, stand, bend, lift, walk and climb stairs. Maximum unassisted lift can be greater than 50 lbs. Able to work on stepladders, extension ladders up to30 ft., and scaffolding. Ability to work indoor + outdoor during all seasons.
