Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Part Time High School Spanish Teacher to inspire and engage students in language learning. This role offers an exciting opportunity to foster linguistic skills, cultural understanding, and academic growth among teenagers in a vibrant educational environment. As a key member of our teaching team, you will develop innovative lesson plans, utilize educational technology, and support diverse learning styles to create an inclusive classroom experience that motivates students to excel in Spanish language arts.
Duties
- Create an inclusive, inviting and vibrant learning environment for students of all abilities and demographics.
- Design and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards for 1st year and 2nd year Spanish Language students.
- Develop curriculum materials that meet educational compliance and regulation standards while fostering creativity and critical thinking.
- Assess student progress through observation, assessments, and project-based evaluations; provide constructive feedback to support growth.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively, creating a positive learning environment conducive to social sciences and literacy education.
- Collaborate with colleagues on instructional design, lesson planning, and sharing best practices for teaching teenagers across diverse learning styles.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, behavioral concerns, and academic achievements; participate in school meetings and professional development activities.
An ideal candidate will have the following skills and/or experience:
- Fluent Spanish language speaking, reading and writing ability.
- A kind, positive and encouraging demeanor.
- Prior high school teaching experience with a focus on Spanish language arts or social sciences; charter school or Montessori experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development, linguistics, and educational technology integration.
- Proven ability to adapt lessons to various learning styles while maintaining classroom management excellence.
- Excellent communication skills for working with students, parents, colleagues, and administrative staff.
- Familiarity with special education strategies, behavior management techniques, and working with teenagers in diverse educational settings.
- Organizational skills necessary for lesson planning, instructional assessment, and maintaining accurate records of student progress.

Schedule:
The person we hire must be able to work the following schedule:
12:00 to 1:30: First Year Spanish Language and Culture
1:30 to 3:00: 2nd Year Spanish Language and Culture
10:45 to 11:40: First Year Spanish Language and Culture
11:40 to 12:35: 2nd Year Spanish Language and Culture
- Additional compensation for some preparation time
