Job Description: We are seeking friendly, adaptable, and detail-oriented Seasonal Cashiers to support food and beverage operations across multiple service venues on an arts campus. This role is responsible for accurately processing guest orders and payments while helping maintain organized service areas and supporting overall front-of-house operations. Cashiers may rotate between cafés, concessions, bars, and casual dining environments depending on operational needs. The ideal candidate enjoys working with the public and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately ring in food and beverage orders using the point-of-sale (POS) system across multiple service locations
- Process cash, credit card, and staff ID payments accurately, efficiently, and with a high level of responsibility.
- Provide welcoming, professional guest service in both quick-service and performance-event environments
- Assist with setup, stocking, and breakdown of food, beverage, and retail display areas
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of cashier stations and surrounding service areas
- Communicate clearly with kitchen staff, baristas, bartenders, and servers to support smooth service flow
- Support other front-of-house team members during peak service periods as needed
- Monitor product availability and notify supervisors when items are running low
- Follow all cash-handling procedures and operational standards
- Assist with opening and closing duties across assigned venues
- Adapt quickly to changing service styles, locations, and guest volume throughout the season
Qualifications:
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Comfortable handling cash and operating POS systems (experience preferred but not required)
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in both steady café service and high-volume event environments
- Flexibility to work across multiple campus venues as scheduled
- Reliable and able to commit to the full seasonal schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed
- Positive attitude and willingness to collaborate with a team across several service formats
- Previous cashier, café, concessions, retail, or food service experience preferred
