We are seeking a dependable, professional, and customer-focused Security Officer / Gatehouse Attendant to provide access control and security for a private residential condominium community. This position is ideal for an experienced security professional who takes pride in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for residents and their guests.
The successful candidate will have strong observational skills, excellent judgment, and the ability to interact courteously and professionally with residents, visitors, contractors, and emergency personnel.
Schedule
- Full-Time (40 hours per week)
- Night Shift:
- 5:00 PM – 1:00 AM or
- 9:00 PM – 5:00 AM
- 8-hour shifts
Primary Responsibilities
- Control vehicle and pedestrian access at the community entrance.
- Verify resident, guest, vendor, and contractor access.
- Issue visitor passes and maintain accurate visitor logs.
- Monitor security cameras and gate operations.
- Conduct scheduled patrols throughout the property.
- Inspect the community for safety hazards, suspicious activity, and rule violations.
- Enforce community parking regulations, including unauthorized vehicles, missing decals, and improper parking.
- Prepare clear and accurate incident reports.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and notify management or law enforcement when necessary.
- Provide excellent customer service while enforcing community rules professionally and respectfully.
- Perform other security-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Valid Florida Driver's License
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
- Ability to walk the property and perform routine patrols throughout the shift
Preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Gatehouse Attendant, Security Officer, or Access Control Officer
- Experience working in a condominium, HOA, apartment community, or gated residential community
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic computer skills for visitor management and report writing
