Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients according to recipes, including chopping, slicing, and portioning foods using proper knife skills and slicing techniques
- Assist in meal preparation by following established menu plans and adhering to food presentation standards
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including mixers, ovens, slicers, and other culinary tools
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen surfaces in compliance with food safety regulations
- Support the culinary team with food handling procedures that meet safety standards in production and storage
- Follow recipe instructions precisely to ensure consistency and quality in all dishes prepared
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service and effective communication during busy periods
Skills
- Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food industry standards
- Knowledge of menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal assembly techniques
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with kitchen staff
- Understanding of food safety management practices and safety standards in production environments
- Experience with catering or restaurant settings is a plus
- Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail in food handling and presentation
Saturday and Sunday morning availability is a must.
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
