Are you a Manufacturing Engineer who thrives on solving problems, improving processes, and seeing your designs come to life on the production floor? AEI is looking for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer II to join our growing team.
This isn't a desk-only engineering position. You'll work closely with Production, Quality, Purchasing, and our customers to develop innovative manufacturing solutions for a wide variety of custom precision sheet metal products. What You'll Do
- Design and develop precision sheet metal models and assemblies using SolidWorks
- Perform Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews to ensure products are optimized for production
- Develop and maintain Bills of Material (BOMs), production routings, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation
- Prepare labor estimates, tooling concepts, manufacturing layouts, and cost analyses
- Support new product introductions from concept through production
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Purchasing to solve manufacturing challenges and improve workflow
- Troubleshoot production issues while maintaining product quality and delivery schedules
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs, increase productivity, improve quality, and eliminate waste
- Maintain engineering data and manufacturing records within our ERP system
- Recommend improvements to equipment, tooling, materials, and manufacturing processes
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that directly impact our success
Required Experience
- Minimum 5 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience
- Experience in precision sheet metal fabrication or metal manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and production methods
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency with SolidWorks
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems, including BOM and routing management
- Strong understanding of laser cutting, forming, welding, machining, hardware installation, and assembly processes
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to mentor Junior Engineers
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent on the job experience)
- Experience with Global Shop ERP is a plus
- Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience

Pay: $38.50 - $46.00 per hour
