Little Ruby’s Café, one of NYC’s most beloved Australian-inspired restaurants, is seeking a passionate and experienced Restaurant Operations Manager to oversee front-of-house (FOH) operations. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and is dedicated to warm hospitality, team development, and consistent service execution.

Position Summary:
As the Restaurant Operations Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing all day-to-day FOH activities. Your role is critical in ensuring smooth and efficient service, upholding our brand standards, and leading a high-performing team. From scheduling and staffing to training, compliance, and guest satisfaction, you’ll help keep Little Ruby’s running at the highest level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise FOH operations to ensure seamless, high-quality service
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and genuine hospitality
- Interview, hire, train, and coach FOH staff
- Manage staff scheduling to meet labor and service targets
- Conduct performance reviews and ongoing staff development
- Maintain deep knowledge of food and beverage menus to support guest-facing staff
- Oversee POS functions, cash handling, and shift reconciliation
- Monitor and order operational supplies
- Ensure compliance with local health, safety, and labor regulations
- Enforce sanitation standards in line with DOH and company policy
- Oversee completion of opening and closing procedures
- Work closely with BOH and management to ensure a cohesive service experience
- Participate in daily pre-shift meetings and ongoing training sessions
- Troubleshoot and report any facility or equipment issues as needed
Qualifications:
- 2–3 years of management or supervisory experience in a high-volume restaurant or hospitality setting
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
- Comfortable using POS systems, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office
- Completion of (or willingness to obtain) Food Handler’s Certificate, PCI/DSS, and Alcohol Awareness Training
- Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Experience working in fast-paced, physically demanding environments
