Salt & Straw is looking for Production Associates to support our Central Kitchen of Oregon (CKOR) production facility located in Portland’s Central Eastside.
The Production Associate II is an intermediate-level position on the Spin team responsible for supporting the production of premium, high-quality ice cream products efficiently and accurately. This role builds on the skills and responsibilities of a Production Associate I while supporting the operation, monitoring, and troubleshooting of production equipment throughout the manufacturing process. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, equipment operation, and working within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
What Salt & Straw Production Associates Do
Monitor and operate manufacturing equipment throughout the production process to ensure consistent performance and product quality
Set up and disassemble equipment daily while performing pre-op and post-op checks
Troubleshoot equipment issues and support production uptime by escalating concerns promptly
Ensure all quality standards are met through visual inspections, equipment settings verification, and adherence to established processes
Record and document lot codes accurately and systematically during production
Follow all food safety, GMP, sanitation, and workplace safety policies
Support and guide junior team members on daily production tasks and operating procedures
Identify and recommend process improvements related to equipment performance and production efficiency
Use pallet jacks to transport materials and finished products throughout production
Support the Spin Team in achieving daily production goals
This Role Might Be Right If You:
Have at least 9 months of experience working in commercial food preparation, manufacturing, production, or warehouse environments
Have a minimum of 6 months machine operating experience
Have strong attention to detail and ability to follow established processes
Are comfortable working quickly and staying focused within a fast-paced production environment
Have strong communication and teamwork skills
Have good problem-solving abilities and know when to troubleshoot or escalate issues
Are comfortable operating a variety of commercial kitchen or production equipment
Are reliable, consistent, and able to follow SOPs and safety protocols
Are comfortable working around food allergens and within refrigerated/freezer environments
High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Wage Transparency
The anticipated hiring range for this position is $19.78 - $21.10. The broader compensation range of $19.78 - $24.18 reflects future earning growth within the role over time.
