Responsibilities
- Operate the cash register efficiently, accurately processing sales transactions and handling cash, credit cards, and other payment methods using POS (Point of Sale) systems.
- Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product information or demos when needed.
- Manage cash drawer handling with integrity, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed at all times.
- Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance sales and improve the customer experience.
- Maintain knowledge of store products and merchandising to assist customers effectively and support inventory stocking when necessary.
- Ensure the checkout area is clean, organized, and well-stocked to facilitate quick service during busy periods.
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers over the phone.
Qualifications
- Previous cashiering or retail sales experience preferred; familiarity with POS systems is a plus.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers confidently in both English and bilingual settings.
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and balancing cash drawers at shift end.
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly, positive attitude.
