Position Overview
Safeguard America, Inc. is seeking a motivated, organized, and people-oriented Human Resources Manager to lead our Human Resources Department and support our growing organization.
Safeguard America operates within the transportation, security, and airport services industries, making this a dynamic position with exposure to a wide range of HR responsibilities and operational functions. The HR Manager will oversee all day-to-day Human Resources activities while partnering closely with executive leadership and department managers to ensure the company attracts, develops, and retains exceptional talent.
We are looking for someone who is proactive, adaptable, and eager to continuously improve our HR function. This role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced operational environment and wants to make a meaningful impact across multiple business divisions. Key ResponsibilitiesHuman Resources Leadership
- Manage the daily operations of the Human Resources Department.
- Serve as the primary HR resource for employees and management.
- Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Partner with executive leadership on workforce planning and organizational development.
- Foster a professional, respectful, and engaging workplace culture.
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Manage the full-cycle recruiting process from job posting through onboarding.
- Conduct interviews and coordinate hiring decisions with department managers.
- Prepare offer letters and employment documentation.
- Coordinate orientation and onboarding for new hires.
- Develop recruiting strategies to attract high-quality candidates.
Employee Relations
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee concerns and HR guidance.
- Conduct workplace investigations and assist with conflict resolution.
- Support managers with employee coaching, disciplinary actions, and performance management.
- Promote employee engagement initiatives and positive workplace culture.
HR Administration
- Maintain employee personnel files and HR documentation.
- Manage HRIS records and ensure employee information remains current.
- Prepare HR reports, metrics, and workforce analytics.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee and company information.
Payroll & Benefits
- Assist with payroll processing and employment verifications.
- Coordinate employee benefits administration and enrollment.
- Support employees with benefit-related questions.
- Maintain compensation and benefit records.
Compliance
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Maintain I-9 records, employment documentation, and personnel files.
- Coordinate unemployment claims and workers' compensation documentation.
- Assist with DOT, airport, and compliance-related documentation.
- Coordinate pre-employment screenings, background checks, and drug testing.
Airport & Transportation Operations Support
- Support staffing needs for airport, transportation, and security operations.
- Coordinate badge processing, licensing, and required certifications.
- Maintain employee training records and compliance documentation.
- Partner with operational managers to support workforce planning across multiple locations.
Training & Development
- Coordinate new hire orientation.
- Maintain employee training records.
- Assist with leadership development initiatives.
- Coordinate mandatory compliance and safety training.
Employee Engagement
- Coordinate employee communications and recognition initiatives.
- Assist with employee events and wellness programs.
- Support management with special HR and operational projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of Human Resources experience required.
- Previous experience managing or leading HR functions preferred.
- Experience in transportation, security, airport services, logistics, or similar operational industries is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Experience with recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, and compliance.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional, dependable, detail-oriented, and highly confidential.
- Comfortable interacting with employees at all organizational levels.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS/payroll systems.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
