We are seeking a hardworking and dependable Carpenter to join our team at a busy metal recycling yard. This role requires a skilled carpenter who is also willing and able to perform general labor duties, including shoveling cement and assisting with maintenance or cleanup tasks as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform carpentry work for yard structures, forms, repairs, and basic builds using wood or other materials.
- Construct and repair concrete forms, barricades, ramps, and other support structures.
- Assist in pouring, finishing, and shoveling cement during small concrete projects or yard repairs.
- Support general labor tasks such as material handling, site cleanup, and equipment relocation.
- Operate basic hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Perform heavy lifting, bending, and physical tasks outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Follow all safety guidelines and use proper PPE at all times.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
Requirements:
- Proven carpentry experience in an industrial, construction, or similar setting.
- Willingness to perform physically demanding labor, including shoveling cement and manual material handling.
- Ability to read and follow basic drawings or construction instructions.
- Comfortable working outdoors in rugged environments.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
- Forklift or skid steer experience is a plus (but not required).
- Must pass a drug test and background check (if required by employer).
Work Environment:
- Outdoor industrial yard with exposure to dust, dirt, and weather.
- May require standing, walking, lifting (50+ lbs), and bending for long periods.
