Job Overview:
PORT Lighting is looking for an organized, creative, and solutions-driven Project Manager to join our Lighting Production Services team. Based in our Seabrook, NH office, this role reports directly to the Director of Production to plan, design, and execute lighting systems for a wide range of live productions and events.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced production environment and is equally comfortable designing lighting systems, collaborating with clients, and leading crews in the field. This role blends creative design, technical planning, and hands-on project leadership to ensure every production is delivered safely, efficiently, and at the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities:
- When determined by the Director of Production:
- Conceptualize and present designs to clients while operating within desired budget while Interfacing with other vendors on-site to ensure seamless project execution.
- Attend and Lead client meetings and site visits to ensure all production needs are understood.
- Responsible for the drafting of lighting plots and creation of Lightwright schedules.
- Responsible for the accurate preparation of shop prep lists ensuring all necessary equipment is ready for upcoming projects.
- Lead crews of Fulltime and Freelance staff on-site during the setup and strike of lighting systems.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety and adhere to all safety protocols.
- Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Theater Lighting or related field, or 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Proficiency in Vectorworks, Lightwright, and the operation of lighting consoles.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to lead teams and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
- Working knowledge of AV, rigging, staging, and other aspects of live event production design.
- Valid driver's license and ability to lift 50 lbs.
- OSHA 10 certification and aerial lift training are a plus.
