Cytologist Position Summary
The Cytologist (CT) performs duties involving the preparation, processing, screening, interpretation and correlation of all cytological specimens. The CT assists with fine needle aspirates. The CT participates in educational and training activities and may participate in routine administrative and non-routine technical functions.
Cytologist Position Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Cytotechnology.
- Registered Cytotechnologist or eligible for registration by possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Cytotechnology.
Cytologist Work Schedule
- Cytologist generally works days Monday to Friday.
- Expected to work overtime and/or weekends in times of staffing shortages, emergencies and unexpected increases in workload.
- Expected to respond in the event of a disaster.
