Bay Standard Manufacturing Inc. is a leading threaded rod manufacturing business dedicated to quality and efficiency. We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic Specialist who is resilient, flexible, and has mechanical aptitude.
The Maintenance Mechanic Specialist plays a crucial role in the production line of our manufacturing business. This role focuses heavily on maintaining, rebuilding, and repairing manufacturing equipment. Facility maintenance is another responsibility the Maintenance Mechanic Specialist will take on. A 3-month training plan will be implemented immediately for a smooth transition into the role. The ideal candidate is a team player with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Team Size: 12 members (smaller operation)
Shift: 5:00am - 1:30pm
Pay: $22 - $24 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
Installation, Maintenance, & Repair
- Assist in the installation of new machinery and equipment, ensuring proper setup and operation according to the directions of the Plant Manager
- Diagnose mechanical and hydraulic issues in equipment and repair or replace defective parts: such as motors, pumps, and bearings
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime
- Create standard operating procedures (SOP) as machine operation is learned
Inventory Management, Inspections, & Safety Compliance
- Monitor and manage inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies, including thread rolling dies
- Order parts as necessary to ensure timely repairs
- Perform regular inspections on machinery to prevent breakdowns - this includes lubricating moving parts, replacing worn components, and conducting routine checks
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment - this includes using personal protective equipment (PPE) and following lockout/tagout procedures
Interdepartmental Coordination
- Work closely with production staff to minimize downtime and ensure efficient operation
- Communicate effectively to understand equipment issues and production needs
Qualifications:
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of prior experience in maintenance
- Experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment is highly preferred
- Experience with thread rolling equipment is ideal but not necessary
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
Technical Skills
- Industrial Electrical Training is preferred but not required

- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Troubleshooting skills to diagnose and repair equipment issues
