Job Overview
We are looking for a motivated and dependable Auto Body Shop Assistant / Estimator Trainee to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, has an interest in the automotive industry, and wants to build a career in collision repair and vehicle estimating.
You will work closely with customers and our shop team while learning how to inspect vehicles, understand collision damage, and eventually prepare professional repair estimates.
Duties
- Greet customers and provide friendly, professional customer service
- Answer phones, respond to customer questions, and assist with scheduling
- Help with vehicle check-ins and documenting vehicle condition
- Take photos and gather information needed for estimates
- Communicate with customers regarding the repair process
- Assist the shop with daily administrative and organizational tasks
- Learn how to identify collision damage and repair procedures
- Train to prepare vehicle damage estimates using industry estimating software
- Work with insurance companies and customers as you develop your estimating skills
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment
- Assist the team wherever needed to keep the shop running efficiently
What We're Looking For
- Friendly, professional, and customer-service oriented
- Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Comfortable using computers and learning new software
- Interest in automobiles and the collision repair industry
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Previous automotive, body shop, customer service, or insurance experience is a plus, but not required
- Experience with estimating software such as CCC ONE, Mitchell, or Audatex is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person
Training & Growth
The right candidate will receive hands-on training in vehicle estimating and collision repair processes. Our goal is to develop this person into a capable Auto Body Estimator / Customer Service Representative who can confidently inspect vehicles, communicate with customers, and prepare accurate repair estimates.
