Maintenance Technician
Position Overview
This role owns the Maintenance & Tooling area and is responsible for ensuring machinery, equipment, and tooling operate safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing maintenance processes from planning through full operational execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the Maintenance & Tooling area
- Define and document core maintenance processes
- Develop and maintain standard Preventive Maintenance Inspection (PMI) procedures
- Monitor and report compliance with established PMI procedures
- Plan, coordinate, and execute maintenance activities
- Perform preventive maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines
- Troubleshoot malfunctions using diagrams, manuals, manufacturer instructions, and engineering specifications
- Inspect used parts and determine dimensional changes using tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools
- Remove and replace defective parts using hoists, cranes, and hand/power tools
- Maintain equipment, dies, and parts inventory; establish re-order points and anticipate lead times
- Assist the Extrusion department when equipment issues arise
- Proactively identify and report mechanical concerns
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment in compliance with company and OSHA standards
- Document actions, irregularities, and ongoing maintenance needs to ensure continuity across teams
- Perform other duties as assigned by Operator, Supervisor, or Management
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 85 lbs
- Stand, bend, twist, and move throughout the plant for 8+ hours per shift
- Frequent lifting of heavy materials

- General Warehouse Safety
- Saw Safety
- Fire Safety
- Forklift Safety (Certification Required)
Safety & Work Environment
- Required to wear safety glasses and hearing protection in the warehouse
- Manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels
Skills & Qualifications
- 5 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing maintenance and technology, Trade School or Degree in Maintenance a plus
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- High degree of accuracy, initiative, and adaptability
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.) preferred
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred)
