St. Mary School, a PreK–12 Catholic school in beautiful Lake Leelanau, Michigan, is seeking a faith-filled, experienced Principal to lead our mission-driven community. Rooted in Catholic tradition, we are dedicated to forming disciples of Jesus Christ through strong academics, vibrant arts and athletics, and intentional faith formation.
Position Overview
The principal serves as the spiritual and academic leader of the school, guiding Catholic identity, academic excellence, and daily operations. This role collaborates closely with the pastor, faculty, staff, families, and diocesan leadership to support a thriving school community.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and strengthen the school’s Catholic identity and mission
- Oversee academic programs, curriculum, and faculty development
- Manage day-to-day operations and staff leadership
- Foster strong relationships with families, parish, and community
- Support enrollment, marketing, and fundraising efforts
- Ensure compliance with diocesan, state, and accreditation standards
- Develop and manage the school budget
Qualifications
- Practicing Catholic committed to living and sharing the faith
- Master’s degree or higher in educational leadership, administration, or a related field
- Teacher and Administration Certification
- Minimum 5 years of teaching or leadership experience (Catholic school preferred)
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Experience in community engagement, enrollment growth, and development efforts
