Position Summary
The Laboratory Technician is responsible for the processing all elements of production within the manufacturing department. This includes reagent preparation, kit assembly, plate coating, reagent dispensing, product labeling, dish washing, micro pipetting, balance calibration, and all other activities as they relate to the production process. Other requirements include adherence to all applicable quality standards and GMP standards including the generation of all pertinent production records and line clearance activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Reagent dispensing, labeling, and kit packaging
- Plate coating and sealing activities
- Preparation of coating reagents
- General Reagent preparation
- Microtiter plate coating and production
- Lab ware cleaning
- Kit assembly
- Preparation of buffers, conjugates, and standards
- Perform product quality checks and adhere to line clearance requirements
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Understanding of industry regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices
- Ability to read and understand applicable work instructions, SOP’s, and all other relevant process documentation
- Working knowledge of computers and office software
- Attention to detail and strong mechanical and technical aptitude
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Good communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to lift at least 30lbs independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong laboratory skills and experience working as laboratory technicians in a production or research setting.
- Candidates should possess proficiency with laboratory equipment, including setup, operation, basic maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Candidates should possess quality control knowledge, including following SOPs, performing routine checks, and documenting results accurately.
- Candidates should possess analytical skills to interpret data, identify discrepancies, and support process improvements.
- Relevant qualifications include a high school diploma with technical training or an associate/bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or a related field.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions, work safely with reagents and biological materials, and maintain precise records.
- Strong organization, time management, and communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Experience in immunoassay production, ELISA or CLIA methods, and familiarity with GLP/GMP environments is beneficial.
