MRO Buyer

Position Summary
Hounen Solar is seeking an MRO Buyer to support procurement activities for Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) materials and other indirect goods and services required for our solar module manufacturing operations.
This role is responsible for sourcing suppliers, executing purchase orders, ensuring timely material availability, maintaining inventory levels, and supporting daily plant operations. The MRO Buyer will work closely with maintenance, engineering, production, warehouse, facilities, EHS, and suppliers to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations while driving cost savings and supplier performance.
Key Responsibilities
● Manage procurement of MRO materials, spare parts, tools, consumables, PPE, office supplies, and other indirect purchasing categories
● Source, evaluate, and qualify suppliers; obtain quotations (RFQs) and negotiate pricing, lead times, and commercial terms
● Create, issue, and manage purchase orders while tracking delivery status and resolving supplier issues
● Coordinate with Maintenance, Engineering, Production, Warehouse, and Facilities teams to ensure timely availability of critical materials
● Monitor inventory levels and support replenishment planning for MRO items
● Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, including domestic and international suppliers
● Coordinate shipment schedules with suppliers and logistics providers
● Support cost reduction, supplier performance improvement, and supply continuity initiatives
● Maintain accurate purchasing records and ensure ERP system data integrity
● Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies and procurement procedures
Required Qualifications
● Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
● 2+ years of MRO purchasing or indirect procurement experience in a manufacturing environment
● Experience purchasing industrial spare parts, maintenance supplies, consumables, or facility-related materials
● Experience using ERP/MRP systems
● Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills
● Ability to prioritize multiple requests in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
● Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
● Ability to work cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, engineering, and suppliers
Preferred Qualifications
● Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or NetSuite
● Knowledge of industrial spare parts, maintenance equipment, facility supplies, and inventory management
● Experience supporting cost reduction initiatives and supplier performance management
