Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and installations of HVAC/R systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams to accurately diagnose issues.
- Conduct electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters and troubleshoot mechanical systems repair needs efficiently.
- Utilize your construction experience to assist with system upgrades or new installations aligned with HVAC design specifications.
- Diagnose plumbing issues related to HVAC systems and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
- Ensure compliance with EPA regulations by handling refrigerants properly during servicing or repairs.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, and document all work performed for accountability and future reference.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an HVAC service technician or in a similar field service role with a strong mechanical background.
- Knowledge of HVAC/R systems including refrigeration, air conditioning, boilers, and ammonia refrigeration is essential.
- Ability to read schematics, electrical diagrams, and HVAC system blueprints confidently.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with experience in equipment repair and building automation systems.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL or <PERSON> driver certification is a plus.
- Certifications such as EPA refrigerant handling certification are required; additional certifications in plumbing, electrical diagnostics, welding or boiler operation are advantageous.
- Construction experience or property maintenance background is highly desirable to support diverse job tasks.
- Strong troubleshooting skills using tools like ohmmeters and familiarity with mechanical systems repair techniques.
