Overview:
Psych Consultants Group is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities:
- Individual and Family Counseling: Provide individual and family counseling sessions to clients/families with a focus on addressing mental health concerns, improving coping skills, and promoting emotional well-being.
- Assessment and Treatment Planning: Conduct biopsychosocial assessments to understand clients' needs and formulate effective treatment plans. Collaborate with clients to set realistic and achievable goals.
- Collaboration with Multidisciplinary Team: Work collaboratively with other mental health professionals to ensure comprehensive and integrated care for clients. Participate in staff meetings, clinical supervision, or case presentations.
- Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential client records, including assessments, progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries, in compliance with ethical and legal standards. Submit all paperwork on a timely basis.
- Client Advocacy: Advocate for clients' needs and collaborate with external agencies and resources to ensure access to necessary support services.
- Continuous Professional Development: Stay informed about the latest developments in the field of mental health counseling. Engage in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in a mental health discipline and with relevant experience.
- Valid state licensure as a Mental Health Therapist or eligibility for licensure.
- Strong assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills.
- Knowledge of various therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based practices.
- Strong understanding of behavioral health principles and ability to apply them in a clinical setting.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with clients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines in all aspects of client care.
